& will you make the difference?
My mind's stuck on this line. Will you? Will I make the difference? You know, ever since Secondary One, I've been having this idea, that a single person, me, i, can make the whole difference in everyone's life. It's just the degree of impact, that's all. Your words, your actions, your presence, can affect those who interact with you or even those that you sorta know but don't really know (well, you get my idea).
For example, you happen to be a really pretty girl and also the eyecandy of many, thus your beautiful presence and appearance can make a whole lot of difference to those who are physically attracted to you, and thus make their day, the second they lay their eyes upon you, their day gets a whole lot better, and make themselves, a whole lot happier. Ok, sucky and shallow analogy but, heck, you get the idea.
Why is it that some people make an impact in your life more than others? It's because these are the people who dares to make an impact, dares to create, understands the need to create, to evolve, to change and not stay stagnant. They dare to change and make the difference, they know that something will not happen out of nothing, unless they, themselves, take reign and MAKE IT HAPPEN. They do not sit and wait for others to do things, they do it themselves and that makes all the difference!! This makes them stands out from the rest! This is what makes them different from others! This is why when in comparison to others who surround them and wait for things to happen, they make a larger impact in our lives!
Why is it that any Tom, Dick, Harry (not Potter), John, Mary or Ah Lian, Ah Huey, Ah Beng and Ah Seng don't make a lasting impact on us? (Ok, maybe they do if you happen to step on their toes unknowingly and get yourself into some hot soup with the traids.) But why is it that these people pale in comparison to lets say, a teacher who helped you through your toubled times? Because this teacher is willing to sacrifice her time to lend you a listening ear, and even went the extra mile to help you resolve your problem, something out of the context of her pay and duties. This willingness and proactiveness of the teacher wanting to make something happen created a positive impact on you, heavily, cause maybe what she did totally saved your ass. If she was not willing and did not help, none of this positive impact would be created. Ok, i know, another bad analogy, but i hope you get what i mean.
Think of how your lives would be different now if you had not went to your alma matters and chose to go to another JC/Poly course, what would happen? I would be meeting different people, doing different stuff, and not lead a life alike what i'm leading now. You might disagree that it's not people that changes and mould you, but rather the environment. BUT, the environment is filled with people, that makes it an environment, that changes and moulds you to be who you are today! :D
Ok, i should shut up, this is getting to be the length of an GP essay...
