Is it me, or is the Wiki entry about NJC a big joke!

Here are some extracts that i find extremely amusing:

"Female students have a pleated A line skirt with some choosing to wear shorts underneath, much to the disappointment of many male students."

"Traditionally, the staff had to don themselves in blue and white along with their blue College ties for the male staff to distinguish them. This practice, however, was discontinued in the 1980s when the staff led a strike, protesting that the uniform was too uncomfortable and aesthetically repulsive. Hence, staff today only don white and blue on certain formal College events."

"It is reasonable for one to argue that the college uniform is a complete joke. Being made out of a full grey fabric that is somewhat similar to a composite of plastic & paper, it is also both waterproof & fireproof. The bright red tie is in such stark contrast to the dull grey uniform that it makes Ronald McDonald look down in shame. Generally, even the students of the college hate their uniforms, as most (or perhaps all) look like complete idiots in them, & this is made worse by the presence of 7 metal school badges on the uniform on top of the formal one normally pinned on to the collar. Finally, the uniform desigh has also been a controversial human rights issue, as students are forced to wear it regardless of how idiotic they think they look in it. Many argue that simply being forced to wear such an abomination of fashion is traumatizing & violates human rights."

And there's another part which said something about IP kids being of "sub-par" standards (their reason for them being non O Level kids) and that since the college can't kick em' out (no O level and no where else to go you see) "the authorities have given them the best teachers to save the ailing grades, but efforts are largely unsuccessful." They even went furthur to claim that "The NJC Integrated Programme disaster was adopted by XXX and YYY for their own integrated programmes, effectively sparking a chain of catastrophe throughout the nation." Boy, even though i'm not a mainstream kid, its quite hurting to read such comments. It like there's only been one batch of graduating IP kids to date, so how can they make such statements? My guess is that some anti-IP person submitted it to Wiki. Its so obvious from the entire tone and diction that the person ain't really approving of the entire system. Maybe the "late developers" issue struck up. Haha, then i won't be so surprised. Just like Dickens, i guess the issue here is that there's no critisim about education or the people in it, its more about the entire system and its supposed malfunction.

Still, the entire extract made us students sound like jihong and angsty kids who's greatest issue with the college is about the uniform. Oh yeah, the teachers too.

Boy, a few more days to prelims and i'm still glued to TV and Olympics! Ping Pong between Korea and Singapore was such a blood pressure raising and agonising game! The anxitey was palpable! Worst of all, i watched the ENTIRE match, so i practically watched 3 hours of pingpong with my heart in my throat and notes in my lap. But i think its still quite worth it in the end. At least my hours spent cheering on Team Singapore was justified! Haha, some warped logic indeed.
